Show strong commitment to duty – Catholic Bishop

The Catholic Bishop of Goaso, the Most Reverend Peter K. Atuahene, has appealed to teachers to show strong commitment and accept to work hard to improve the standard of education in the country.

They should find the energy and passion to raise academic performance of the schools.

He noted that teachers were central to education development and said they must live up to expectation.

Bishop Atuahene was addressing the annual conference of the Association of Catholic Teachers at Goaso in the Asunafo North District.

The meeting discussed ways of helping its members to become effective in the classroom.

He encouraged them to uphold professional ethics and desist from acts that could create image problems for them.

He counseled them to avoid absenteeism, lateness and alcohol addiction, adding that, they must make the most of the contact hours.

The Most Rev Atuahene said nothing should give them satisfaction than to see kids they taught progress to take up responsible positions.

He urged them to be good examples to their students, inspire and help them to aspire to greater heights.

He reminded the Catholic teachers to remain steadfast in their faith, stand for the truth and what was right.
