Shop caretaker in court for stealing 38 mobile phones

Goaso (B/A), Aug. 16, GNA – Ben Ameyaw Konadu, a 21-year-old caretaker of WADADA and Son Ventures, has been remanded by a magistrate’s court at Goaso for allegedly stealing 38 mobile phones valued at 41.450 million cedis belonging to his employer, Emmanuel Appiagyei.

Prosecuting, Police Inspector Douglas Asana told the court presided by Mr J Q Owusu that the complainant a businessman resident at Bechem was on a duty tour at Goaso and the accused a caretaker of the complainant’s mobile phone shop at Goaso.

He said on August 6 this year, at about 2:30hours, the accused telephoned the complainant and informed him that thieves attacked him at gunpoint and made away with the 38 phones. Inspector Asana said investigations later revealed that the accused had conspired with accomplices and stole the phones. The accused, who pleaded not guilty to the charge, was remanded to re-appear on August 18.
