Shoe repairer admitted at hospital for snakebite

Akim Oda (E/R), Sept 16, GNA – Yaw Adu, a 22-year old shoe repairer who was bitten by a snake on the leg during a fire outbreak at the Akim Oda market last Saturday, is convalescing at the Akim Oda government hospital.

Speaking to GNA at the hospital Adu said while helping a trader to evacuate her goods from her store during a fire outbreak a reptile he could not identify bit him on the leg.

Miss Akosua Frempomaa, 47, had her leg amputated at the hospital when a taxi knocked her down during the fire outbreak. She told the GNA that on the day of the incident she was standing at the roadside watching the flames when a taxi returning from the market loaded with goods knocked her down.

Rashid Danfo, 21, the taxi driver is also on admission at the hospital.
