Shama (W/R), April 15, GNA- Mr. Kojo Atta Obeng, Headmaster of the Shama Senior Secondary School (SSS), has expressed concern about the slow pace of work on the 17.8 billion cedis school project, which had affected school’s academic calendar.
Mr. Atta-Obeng said the government directed the upgrading of the school into a model one, and it is expected to have a 24-unit classrooms, master’s bungalow, teachers flats, students dormitories, library, computer centre, science laboratory, dinning hall, kitchen and a visual art centre.
He told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview at Shama on Wednesday, that most of the contractors were still having problems, while others were still at the foundation stage of the project. He said management of the school “is not happy with the progress of work on the project.
He said the student population of 463 is likely to double during the next academic year, due to the upgrading of the school. He appealed to the contractors to expedite action on the projects to ensure that academic work is not disrupted.
