Shake up in police service: Kofi Boakye replaces Ashanti Commander

Ultimate Radio can authoritatively confirm that the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Augustine Gyening, has been replaced with DCOP Nathan Kofi Boakye as the new Ashanti Regional Commander.

Mr. Boakye who became known for his alleged role in the infamous MV Benjamin cocaine saga but was later cleared, was until the transfer serving as the Commander of the Western Region.

The man, whose passion and commitment to duty has been hailed by many, comes to the region at a time when police there have recently been accused of manhandling civilians in several situations.

Ultimate Radio can also confirm that DCOP Augustine Gyening is heading for the national police headquarters in charge of police patrols.

Officials for now remain tight-lipped about the full list of transfers.

However, Ultimate Radio can also confirm that the Upper East Regional Police Commander, DCOP Isaac Alex Quainoe has been transferred to replace DCOP Kofi Boakye in the Western Region.
