A 75-year-old man, Kwame Dapaah, who is standing trial with Moses Amoah, for allegedly pulling down a building at Anwomaso in Kumasi, has been granted a GH¢5,000.00 bail, as well as his accomplice, each with a surety.
They are both charged with conspiracy to commit crime and causing damage and they pleaded not guilty.
They would re-appear on Friday, August 17. A third person, whose name was not given is however on the run.
Police Chief Inspector Archibald Kwesi Fandoh told the court presided over by Mr. Justice Emmanuel Amo-Yartey, that the complainants, Timothy Abeene and Awuni Brunab, are labourers at Anwomaso, while the accused are citizens of the area.
About 12 years ago, they each bought a plot of land from one Osei Yaw Akoto and were issued with allocation papers and site plans and began developing one of the plots in April.
They went to the site one day and found that the structure they had put up had been leveled.
They conducted their own investigations and it came out that Dapaah and Amoah committed the offence.
The prosecution said a formal report was made to the police and they were arrested. The two are claiming ownership of the land.**
