Seven-member scholarship committee formed at Nkoranza

A seven-member committee to conduct interviews for the selection of qualified applicants for the Government Secondary Education Improvement Programme (SEIP) scholarship scheme has been inaugurated in Nkoranza.

The committee is a creation of the Nkoranza Municipal Assembly and the Nkoranza Municipal Directorate of Education.

The members include: Madam Stella Amoatemaa, Municipal Chief Executive; Mr Godfred Axolu, Municipal Director of Education and Chair of the Committee; Mr Samuel Okyere, Headmaster of Kwabre Senior High School and Mr Akrapim Baffoe, former Presiding Member of the Assembly.

The others are Madam Agatha Osei, the Municipal Girls Education Officer; Madam Sarah Oforiwaa, Member of the Women and Children sub-Committee of the Assembly and Mr Frank Afosaa, the School-Based Municipal Coordinator of the SEIP.

Madam Amoatemaa, in an interview with Ghana News Agency at Nkoranza, said the Scheme is aimed at supporting and encouraging the needy but promising youth.

She commended Government for instituting the scheme.
