Seven girls pregnant at one JHS in one term

Seven girls dropped out of school due to pregnancy in one Junior High School (JHS) in the Keta Municipal Area.

Mr John Gbekor, a Circuit Supervisor (CS) dropped the information at a public forum at Fiaxor.

He, however, would not mention the school.

Mr Gbekor told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) what he said “is not for the media as I have no permission to say so,” but appealed to stakeholders, especially parents, to live up to their responsibilities towards their children.

Miss Orielia Tudzi, Municipal Girl-Child Education Officer confirmed the story of the seven pregnant girls, but would also not give the name of the school.

She said the education directorate was brainstorming on the rampant pregnancies among school girls in the municipal area.
