Seven Die In Collision

Agomeda (Greater Accra) 12 Jan.,

Seven people including two women died on the spot when a mini bus on which they were travelling was involved in a head-on collision with a tipper truck at Apese, near Agomeda on the Somanya-Dodwa road yesterday. Twelve others sustained serious injuries and have been admitted at the Akosombo VRA and Atua Government Hospitals. The victims have not been identified but are believed to be members of the Maamobi and Accra New Town branches of the Church of Pentecost. According to the Dodowa police, who are investigating the accident, the victims were returning from a funeral at Nuaso in the Manya Krobo District. The police said the mini bus, with registration number GR 3303 C, burst a tyre, and the driver lost control, resulting in the collision with the tipper truck, with registration number GR 5328 E. The dead have been deposited at the police hospital mortuary in Accra.
