An accident has killed about seven (7) people with several others injured on the Achimota –Ofankor highway at Taifa junction in Accra on Monday morning.
According to reports received, a white “trotro” 207 Benz bus from the old Ofankor barrier almost collided head-on with an oncoming Metro Mass Transit(MMT) bus (Kufuor bus) from Achimota which resulted in the accident.
Narrating the incident to Peacefmonline, an eyewitness said the over speeding Benz bus after overtaking another vehicle failed to notice the oncoming Metro Mass Transit (MMT) bus (Kufuor bus) which almost resulted in a collision, making the Benz bus in an attempt to swerve crashed into the concrete wall pavement on the main highway.
At the scene of the accident, the front of the Benz bus had been totally crashed with the Metro Mass Transit (MMT) bus also weaving off the main road.
Seven (7) were found dead on the spot including three (3) women, with several others injured.
