Seven arrested over robberies in Ashaiman

The Tema Regional Police Command has arrested seven suspects for their alleged involvement in a series of robberies at Ashaiman Sakasaka Park and Dagomba Junction in the Greater Accra Region.

In a statement, the Police revealed that a group of young people attacked victims at the locations using weapons before making off with several valuable items.

The stolen items included an iPhone 12 Pro Max, a Samsung A03 Core, a backpack containing a Dell laptop and its charger, a power bank, an Infinix Hot 40i smartphone, and cash.

The police promptly responded to the incident and, with the assistance of community members, arrested two suspects, named Moses Kwame Helu and Jonathan Osabutey.

Subsequent intelligence-led operations resulted in the arrest of Robert Amekudzi and a juvenile whose name has been withheld, in possession of the stolen backpack and the Dell laptop with its charger.

The police also arrested Bernard Dzumador and another unnamed juvenile found with the stolen iPhone 12 Pro Max and Samsung A03 Core.

The suspects are currently in police custody, assisting with ongoing investigations. The Police have confirmed that the individuals will soon be charged and presented before the courts.

The Tema Regional Police Command has assured the public of its commitment to ensuring law and order, urging residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities promptly.
