Service personnel playing a useful role – Presiding Member

Mr Akrapim Baffoe, Presiding Member of Nkoranza South Municipal Assembly, said the posting of National Service Personnel to the rural communities had enhanced development in the country.

He said this during the launch of the National Service Week at Nkoranza, where 130 personnel have been posted.

Mr Baffoe said the personnel played invaluable roles in the communities and inspired many to study and reach higher levels in their education.

He urged the personnel to be humble and learn from their superiors at their place of work and urged those with special skills to endeavour to establish their own businesses and help create opportunities for the unemployed.

Mr Stephen Seidu, Nkoranza South Municipal Director of the National Service Scheme, urged the personnel not to rest on their oars, but upgrade their skills to enhance their status.

He advised the personnel to avail themselves of the opportunities offered by the Distance Learning and Sandwich programmes undertaken by various universities to improve on their academic standards.

Mr Richard Owusu, Nkoranza South Municipal President of the National Service Personnel Association, commended heads of departments in the municipality for their cordial working relationship with the personnel.
