Service personnel appeal for payment of Nov/Dec allowances

National Service Personnel in the New Juaben Municipality has appealed for the payment of their November and December allowances.

This came to light when the Ghana News Agency (GNA) spoke to some of the service personnel who had besieged the New Juaben Municipal Secretariat of the Service on the eve of Christmas, hoping to receive their allowance before the Secretariat broke for the Christmas holidays.

Ms Dorothy Adai, service personnel from the Ashanti Region, said she used her September and October allowances to pay her rent and had no money left on her.

Ms Adai said, even though she wished to go and spend the Christmas holidays with the family in Ashanti Region, she had no money, and would not be able to go.

Ms Shallotte Agbodza from the Volta Region also told the GNA that, she would be very grateful if the allowances for National Service Personnel could be paid in time to prevent them from going through difficulties.

Ms Mavis Annor Boateng, a service personnel from Upper Manya Krobo in the Eastern Region, said because she has not been given her allowance, she has no money to buy anything for her family to celebrate Christmas, and appealed for early payment of allowances to National Service Personnel, especially on festive occasions like Christmas.
