Serious fraud in teachers recruitment – Haruna

The Minister for Employment and Labour Relations Haruna Iddrisu has revealed that recruitment of teachers in the country is fraught with irregularities and fraud.

This development according to him came to light during the validation exercise currently being conducted by the Controller and Accountant’s General Department in collaboration with the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC)

“Evidence available during the validation exercise points to serious fraud”, he disclosed.

The employment minister, therefore, indicated that due diligence is needed on applications and certifications of teachers in the country in order to deal with the situation.

Over 30, 0000 teachers’ documents have been validated by the FWSC and the compensation department of the ministry of finance.
