Sepe Doti Health Centre cries for help

The Sepe Doti Health Centre in the Asokore Mampong Municipality is in a sorry state and needs urgent attention.

The health centre is the only Ghana Health Service (GHS) facility under the Asokore Municipality which attends to the health needs of the people.

Speaking to The Finder, the only physician assistant at the health post, Madam Victoria Sellah lamented the state of the facility saying “if urgent attention is not given the facility, the health needs of the people will be in jeopardy.”

Madam Victoria stated that the health facility has no delivery beds at the maternity ward for pregnant women to lie on when in labour.

She added that there are no beds for patients on admission, as well chairs for patients to sit on at the out-patients department.

The physician assistant also bemoaned the lack of laboratory to conduct simple tests, as well as scanning machine.

The health post provides a number of services to the people such as post-natal care, child welfare, family planning, deliveries and other health needs of the people.

Madam Victoria, therefore, appealed to the government, the Member of Parliament for the area, the Municipal Chief Executive and all benevolent organisations and individuals to come to their aid and help address the stated challenges.
