Senya-Bereku to raise social profile through education

Senya-Bereku, April 8, GNA – Mr David Ampah-Bennin, the Volta Regional Police Commander, has stressed the need for the people of Senya-Bereku to strategize to raise the social profile of the area through education. He said it was untenable for parents to give “lack of money” as reason for inability to fund the education of their children.

Mr Ampah-Bennin was addressing a durbar of chiefs and people of Senya-Bereku Traditional Area on Holy Saturday at Senya-Bereku. Senya-Bereku, a littoral community in the Central Region, holds durbars during Easter festivities to highlight developmental needs of the area and also honour.

Nenyi Akwanda III, the Paramount Chief, commended Mr Ampah-Bennin for working his way with humility and hard work through the ranks to his current position as a regional police head.

He said Mr Ampah-Bennin’s support for education in the area by personally sponsoring needy students and efforts in concert with others to bring other developmental needs, including water to the area, also deserved praise.

Present at the durbar were some colleague commanders of the security services in the Volta Region and a representative of the Inspector General of Police (IGP). 08 April 10
