Sekyere West Assembly donates to Watch Committee

Mampong (Ash), Oct 11, GNA- The Sekyere West district assembly on Friday presented items worth about 14 million cedis to the Asante-Mampong Neighbourhood Watch Committee to facilitate its work. The items included 140 pairs of Wellington boots, 70 rain coats and 80 whistles.

Mr Thomas Edward Atakorah, the District Chief Executive, who presented the items expressed satisfaction with the performance of the committee.

He expressed the hope that they will carry on with the good work they had been doing.

Chief Superintendent of Police Kwaku Ayesu Opare-Addo, the Mampong Divisional Police Commander, who received the items on behalf of the committee, expressed appreciation to the assembly.

He said the donation underscored the assembly’s determination to ensure that the people were not terrorised by criminals and other miscreants.

Mr Opare-Addo encouraged neighbours to get to know each other, exchange phone numbers and to call the police if they see any suspicious movements of people around their areas.
