Sekyere DCE meets with media practitioners

Nsuta (Ash), June 1, GNA – Mr Ebenezer Akuoko Frimpong, District Chief Executive (DCE) of Sekyere Central, in the Ashanti Region, has listed the provision of amenities like good environmental sanitation facilities, roads and office accommodation, as part of his development agenda for the district. The DCE who was interacting with journalists in the district, counted on the co-operation of all stakeholders including, traditional and religious leaders, political figures and workers in order to facilitate accelerated development. Mr Frimpong observed that without adequate funds to executive the various projects envisaged, the expectations of the people would remain on the drawing board.

He therefore urged them to pay their taxes, to supplement the development budget of central government. He expressed regret that local government organs, such as the area councils and unit committees, are not functioning in the district and promised to reactivate their operations in order to play their respectful development roles.

The DCE said problems in the district were many and varied but with patience, commitment, hard work and sincerity, they would be tackled.
