The abandoned Sekondi Railway Station has now become a den for thieves who engage in snatching of mobile phones at night. The situation has created fear among the fisher folk and worshippers who pass through the area at night.
The robbers also use offensive weapons to execute their diabolic acts.
The Assembly member for the area, Abu Seidu, has appealed to the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly, to install streetlights in the community to provide security for the inhabitants.
He also promised to form a watchdog committee to patrol the area at night.
Mr. Seidu appealed to the Police to intensify their night patrols in the area.
