Sekondi, July 13, GNA – The Right Reverend Paul Egyri, Bishop of the Sekondi Diocese of the Methodist Church, has called on Christians to show love and compassion to the elderly, sick and orphans. “These people need the greatest care and support, and all must endeavour to make life meaningful for them”.
Rt. Rev. Egyri was speaking at the foundation stone laying of a one billion cedi mission house for the diocese in Sekondi, on Saturday. He urged Christians to lead lives worthy of emulation to win the respect and confidence of others.
They should also let the Holy Spirit be their guide, teacher and counselor and to rely on God.
The three-storey building, which was started in May this year, would be completed in July 2004.
Mr. James Abaidoo-Brew, Diocesan Lay Chairman, asked members of the Church to support the project. He said the old mission house would be converted into a Diocesan Secretariat.
An appeal for funds yielded 64 million cedis.
