Sekondi Diocese of Methodist Church to launch 170th anniversary

Sekondi, Jan. 5, GNA – The Sekondi Diocese of the Methodist Church is to launch the Church’s 170th anniversary at all its branches in the Western Region on January 9, this year.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Diocesan Secretariat of the Church at Sekondi and signed by the Very Rev. Daniel De-graft Brace, the Synod Secretary.

The statement said the anniversary would be climaxed on November 27, 2005 under the theme: “Making Disciples of All Nations”.

It said as part of the celebrations, the Church would launch its International Religious Tourism Initiative, also known as “Methofest”. The Men, Women, Youth and Children’s Ministries of the Church would each celebrate weeklong festivals as part of the anniversary while crusades, free medical services and an HIV/AIDS awareness programme would also be organised.
