Sefwi Wiawso Police arrest five robbers

The Sefwi Wiawso Police have arrested five robbers for robbing a cocoa purchasing clerk at Adu Kwesikrom in the Sefwi-Wiawso Municipality of the Western Region.

The suspects, who are all farmers, are Ali Raymond, 24, Kwabena Gyan, 19, Amadu Issah, 25, kwabena Ackah, 28 and Daniel Sampa alias Kwame Gribah, 28.

The Western Regional Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Police Service, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Olivia Ewurabena Adiku told the Ghana News Agency investigations revealed that on November 19, the suspects attacked at gun point, Naomi Asamoah, wife of one Ernest Boateng, a purchasing clerk of FEDCO and Sikapa Cocoa Buying Company Limited, who had then travelled to Kumasi, and robbed her of GHc12, 800.

ASP Adiku said Naomi reported the robbery to the Police leading to the arrest of the suspects. One of them, Kwabena Nyamekye Azuma, is on the run.

They were put before the Bibiani Circuit Court on November 21 and remanded into police custody to re-appear on December 18.
