Sefwi-Wiawso District Assembly confirms President’s nominee

Sefwi-Wiawso (W/R), April 4, GNA – Members of the Sefwi-Wiawso District Assembly, have confirmed Mr Atta Boamah as the new District Chief Executive for the area.

Mr Boamah, a 42-year-old marketing executive, polled 28 out of the 38 valid votes cast to get the nod of the assembly.

The assembly also elected Mr Godfred Kwabena Adjei, a 36-year-old Sector Manager of the Akuafo Adamfo Buying Company, as the Presiding Member.

He had 36 out of the 38 votes cast in an election supervised by the district electoral officer, Mr Joseph Debrah Gyamfi. The two were sworn into office by Justice Winifred Kpentey, Sefwi-Wiawso High court judge. Mr Anthony Evans Amoah, Western Regional Minister, commended the assembly members for showing maturity during the elections. He called for cooperation and unity among the assembly members and Mr Boamah to ensure speedy development of the district. Mr Boamah thanked the assembly members and pledged to work hard to promote the development of the district.
