Kumasi, Jan 3, GNA – Some concerned elders of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Sefwi-Wiawso constituency have sent a congratulatory message to President John Agyekum Kufuor on his re-election for a second four-year term.
The elders said the President’s victory was due to his exemplary leadership qualities exhibited during his first four-year term of office and the confidence and trust the people of Ghana have in him. The message signed by Mr Gabriel Antwi-Boasiako, the Managing Director of Gabansan Construction and chairman of the Sefwi-Wiawso GPRTU said, “We are promising our strong solidarity and support for you Mr President and the New Patriotic Party.”
“This is so because we believe in private sector development, good governance, true democracy and the rule of law which are the hall marks of nation building.”
The message appealed to the President not to allow the voting pattern in Sefwi to detract his attention from the people but to continue the development projects already started and give the people their fair share of the national cake as promised during the campaign time.
It said efforts were being made to find out what led to the massive loss of the party in the constituency.
