Sefwi Presbytery chairperson calls for peace

The Sefwi Presbytery Chairperson of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, the Reverend Amanamah Kobbina Assuah, has urged the church to provide the needed leadership to unite the people and reduce tension in the society.

It should focus on helping the people to iron out their differences and embrace themselves to bring progress.

The Rev Asuah made the call at a well-attended inter-denominational thanksgiving service for the late Omanhene of the Sefwi-Wiawso Traditional Area, Nana Nkuah Okodom at Sefwi-Wiawso.

This brought the curtains down on the week-long funeral celebration held for the deceased chief.

He passed on four years ago and the Presbytery Chairperson said his funeral should unite the people in the area for development, adding that, it was the best and an enduring tribute they could pay to his memory.

He advised the people to overcome division, hatred, suspicion, rumors and gossip – things that could tear them apart.
