Seek medical attention promptly upon discovering any symptoms of illness. – Health Director

The immediate past Disease Control Officer at the Dormaa Central Municipal Health Directorate, now appointed as the District Director of Health Services for Dormaa West, Mr. Daniel Owusu Amponsah, has urged Ghanaians to seek medical attention without delay upon noticing any symptoms of illness. He emphasized the importance of timely intervention to prevent adverse consequences.

Mr. Amponsah noted that many illnesses exhibit similar signs and symptoms, therefore, he advised against self-medication, advocating instead for immediate consultation at a healthcare facility.

Speaking in an exclusive interview during a ceremony of Send off and Thanksgiving service to officially appoint him to Nkrankwanta, the Dormaa West District capital where he has been transferred to serve as the Director of Health Services, Mr. Daniel Owusu Amponsah conveyed his appreciation for his decade-long tenure in Dormaa Ahenkro as the Disease Control Officer stressing that during this period, he valiantly contended with over five disease outbreaks, including cholera, CSM, whooping cough, and COVID-19, among others. He expressed profound gratitude to the traditional leaders, his staff, and colleagues for their unwavering support and encouragement, which enabled him to fulfill his duties successfully.

He elaborated on his efforts to combat diseases within the municipality, emphasizing his initiative to enhance the skills of his colleagues, thereby empowering them to perform effectively even in his absence.

Mrs. Veronica Ntim, the new Disease Control Officer of the Dormaa Central Municipal Health Directorate, expressed her profound gratitude to Mr. Daniel Owusu Amponsah for his altruism and unwavering commitment to his duties. She observed that, throughout her 12-year tenure in the health service across approximately three different regions and directorates, Mr. Daniel Owusu Amponsah stands out as the most exemplary leader she has had the privilege to work with. She, along with the entire staff of the disease control office, is deeply appreciative of his guidance and support.

She urged Nananom, the hospital staff, and all residents of Dormaa Ahenkro to extend the same support to her as they did to the outgoing officer, in order to enhance the efficacy of their work.
