Securityman granted 30 million cedis bail for theft

Tema, August 1, GNA0- The Tema circuit court ‘A’ has granted 30 million cedis bail to Stephen Yeboah and issued a bench warrant for Ofori Asante, both security officers of Bridal Trust, a paint manufacturing company for stealing bags of sicomen valued at 9.4 million cedis belonging to the company. Yeboah pleaded not guilty and he is to re-appear on August 18.

Police Inspector Sarah Aggrey Acquah, told the court that on January 10, 2004, at about 0600 hours, the watchman who was on his beat met the accused loading bags of sicomen valued at 9.4 million cedis into a private car. When accused was ordered to bring out the raw materials from the car he refused and the watchman quickly closed the main gate to prevent the car from going out, the prosecution said.

The prosecution said the two accused persons dragged him from the gate and sped off. Inspector Acquah said a report was made to the police and the accused persons were arrested.
