Security personnel deployed in Aflao

Aflao, Dec. 7, GNA – Security personnel with anti-riot gear have been deployed at polling stations and streets of Aflao just after end of polling at 1700 hours as vote counting got underway. Several people have gathered at the polling stations to witness the counting of votes.

At the Timber Market Polling Station, 1,200 out of 1906 registered voters voted, while 540 out of 990 cast their votes at Atilekope, 550 out of 1326 voted at the Post Office Square Polling Station. Mr Ben Agbemazior, Returning Officer for the Ketu-South Constituency said the election in the constituency was generally peaceful and orderly with no shortage of materials reported.

He commended the party agents in the constituency for facilitating the congenial atmosphere at the polling stations. Assistant Superintendent of Police, Mr Ahmed Issa Yakubu and Commander of the Rapid Deployment Force in the constituency said though no incidents were reported so far, the police were not taking any chances.
