Security man jailed for defiling 13-year-old girl

Kumasi, June 21, GNA – A Kumasi Circuit Court on Wednesday jailed a private security man for 18 years for defiling a 13-year-old junior secondary school pupil.

Kwame Senya, 36, pleaded guilty to the charge. Passing sentence the presiding judge, Mr Richard Mac Kogyapwah, said as a security man the convict was supposed to protect citizens rather than indulging in such acts. Police Chief Inspector Archibald Fandoh told the court that Senya was a security man with Takbok Company, dealers in iron rods at Kyirapatre.

He said on June 12, the convict lured the victim and forcibly had sex with her, gave her 6,000 cedis and warned her not to disclose her experience to anyone.

Chief Inspector Fandoh said the next day the grandmother detected a change in victim’s walking and questioned her.
