Secret Tape! NPP plans to disrupt elections with mercenaries?

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is allegedly planning to disrupt the December polls by engaging the services of mercenaries described as “bad boys” from Togo, Liberia, Nigeria and Libya. This is according to a secret tape recording released by the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

In the secret recording, a voice believed to be that of the NPP’s National Youth Organiser, Anthony Karbo is heard saying “I’m meeting with all the bad boys in the hood. Some of them be NDC boys, some of these guys from Libya, some of the boys from – what do we call them – these Ayigbe boys from Togo.”

The man believed to be Anthony Karbo goes on to plot against the security apparatuses.

“There is a whole lot of warfare. In addition to that, first week second week in November, we need to start attacking the national institutions like police, like the military and the National Security and the BNI.”

The plan further targets the Electoral Commission with a scheme to direct attention on some crucial offices.

“…you have to hit particular offices in the EC, Director of Operations, CID boss, and this Hamidu guy; those are key,” the speaker said.

The person in the recording said “what they are going to try to do is to instigate some fighting. My party people too, they talk, blablabla but the don’t have people.”

The voice goes on to indicate that the “bad boys” will operate within “Ashanti Region, Western Region, Eastern Region; all the five Akan regions. These are our strongholds; you need to protect that and one quickly.”

The voice then charged the “bad boys” to target and attach people from the Volta Region in military.

He said “if you go to the military there are some of the brigadiers, Ayigbe, Ayigbe brigadiers; we have to start attacking them.”
