Narcotic drugs found at KIA

Accra, March 23, GNA – A substance, believed to be narcotic drugs has once more been found at the Duty Free Shop at the Kotoka International Airport.

The substance was discovered when workers relocating a disused refrigerator decided to find out what was making it heavier than usual. Upon a search, they found the substance which weighed 38 kilograms hidden in the refrigerator.

Last week, three workers at the Duty Free Shop and an Aviation Security Personnel were taken in for questioning after 31 kilograms of narcotic drugs were found hidden in boxes at the shop. Security sources at the airport said anti-narcotics agents had placed the entire Duty Free Shop under surveillance as investigations continue.
