Second Best Farmer’s farm burnt

Nkwanta (V/R), March 20, GNA – More than 20 8 hectares of farms belonging to Mr Nicholas Fattoh, 1998 National Second Best Farmer has been destroyed in a bush fire in the Nkwanta district of the Volta Region.

Crops destroyed included cassava, rice, cashew, seed yams and poultry. The District Information officer, Mr Cephas Aggor disclosed this to the GNA, when the First Lady and President of the 31st December Women’s Movement, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings’s toured the Volta region.

He said Mr Fattoh also lost his gari-processing machine and solar panels, which is the source of electricity to the farm. Mr Fattoh could not be reached to comment on the incident. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
