In a statement issued on Wednesday, 21 October, the Ministry said it was concerned about the disappearance and offered its sympathies to the families of the seven fishers.
It appealed to fishing vessels and coastal communities, particularly those along the eastern coastline, to remain alert and immediately share any information that could assist the search.
“Our thoughts are with the families of the missing fishers during this difficult period. Every effort must be made to locate the seven crew members and bring them home safely,” the Ministry said.
The Ministry said all possible efforts should be made to find the crew and return them safely.
It also reaffirmed its commitment to improving safety at sea, emergency communication and coordination between maritime search and rescue agencies, with the aim of better protecting Ghanaian fishers.
