Search for absconded rapist

Suhum, Feb 10, GNA – The police at Suhum are looking for a 25-year-old farmer, Kofi Ladji, who defiled a three-year-old baby and absconded.

A police source told the Ghana News Agency that the suspect and the victim lived in adjacent houses at Adjibolo, a farming village, near Akorabo in the Suhum/Kraboa/Coaltar District in the Eastern Region. On January 28 the grandmother left the victim in the house to attend a meeting at a near-by village. The suspect took advantage of the absence of the grandmother and defiled the baby.

It said when the grandmother returned from the meeting the girl told her of her ordeal and when Lardji was confronted he admitted the offence and went into hiding. 10 Feb 05
