SDA prays for Ghana’s peace and prosperity

Akyem Abodom (E/R), April 4, GNA – The Kade District of the Seventh Day Adventist Church has organized a joint service at Kade to give thanks to God for the peace and unity the country is enjoying. The service was part of the Golden Jubilee of Ghana’s independence. The service, attended by the church’s 23 branches, also prayed for the stability and prosperity of the country.

Speaking at the service the acting Co-ordinating Director of the Kwaebibirem District Assembly, Mr Samuel Abiaw, appealed to Ghanaians to forgive and do justice to all.

“We should strive to overcome problems confronting the country such as ethnicity, political factionalism, religious intolerance, apathy and indiscipline.”

He appealed to all sectors of society especially religious and traditional authorities to do away with recrimination and to seek true reconciliation.

Pastor S. K. Agyare, the Ministerial Secretary of the East Ghana Conference of S.D.A, said the Church and state were working together to build the country and called for unity, love and peace. Pastor Agyare appealed to the government to hand over the running of church schools back to the churches to ensure greater discipline in both pupils and teachers.

The church presented two million cedis to the maternity ward of the Kade Health Centre.
