SDA creates new department to promote evangelism

Kumasi, Feb. 28, GNA – Adventist Men’s Organization, a newly create= d department of the Central Ghana Conference of the Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) Church for evangelism and other social services has been inaugurated in Kumasi. Pastor Dr Samuel Larmie, President of the Ghana Union Conference of the Church, said this formed part of measures to strengthen the church’s structures ahead of the commemoration of 125 years of Adventism in 2013. He said the SDA had since its formation lived up to the twin-mission of winning souls for God and the promotion of 93our common humanity.” He said the SDA had also established a strong presence in the areas o= f health, education, youth empowerment and humanitarian services. Pastor Dr Larmie said the Church would continue to remain focused and invited the leadership to work hard towards the advancement of Adventism. He urged the organization to ensure that its activities were in total harmony with the objectives of the church.

Pastor Dr Larmie said year 2011 had been declared a 93Year for the Youth” by the Union Conference and for that matter the church needed to encourage youth organizations to actively engage in evangelism, leadership training programmes and voluntary work. Pastor Emmanuel Denteh, President of the Central Ghana Conference, urge= d the organization to be committed to duty and make sure the gospel reached unbelievers. Pastor Andrew Addo Boateng, Director of the Organization, said they hoped to live up to expectation.
