SDA Children Ministry presents items to children’s ward

Sunyani June 27, GNA – The Sunyani North and South Children’s Ministries of the Seventh Day Adventist Church at the weekend presented items worth three million cedis to the children’s ward of the Regional Hospital in Sunyani.

The items included fruits, soaps, bread, sugar, biscuits, toffees and tricycles.

Children from Tanoso, Abesim, Odumase, Terchire joined their colleagues in Sunyani to the hospital as part of their annual Children’s Day celebration under the theme, “Love saves”.

Mrs. Cecilia Anane Okyere, Director of the Ministries, who presented the items, said the children’s ward was chosen “because of the special concern that the Lord has for their welfare and development”. “Jesus said, ‘Let the children come unto me for theirs is the kingdom of God”, she said and urged parents to cater well for their children since they would be made to account for their stewardship over them to the Lord.

The Director explained that children in the Ministries between the ages of one and fifteen were given spiritual and physical training to enable them to grow to become responsible citizens.

Madam Beatrice Aknobetu, deputy nursing officer of the ward who received the items expressed appreciation for the gesture and advised the children to take their education seriously.

She gave the assurance that the items would distributed fairly to the children and urged the children of the Ministries to take good care of themselves to avoid falling sick.

The children later prayed for all patients at the hospital for their speedy recovery.
