Scrap dealer before court for stealing

Takoradi Dec.9, GNA- Yaw Ofori Armah, a scrap dealer, appeared before the Takoradi Circuit Court ‘A’ on Wednesday for allegedly stealing some spare parts of articulated vehicle, valued at 200 million cedis. In the dock with him was Kwame Boakye, a trader who allegedly made a part payment of eight million cedis for the stolen item. Armah pleaded not guilty for stealing, while Boakye also pleaded not guilty for dishonestly receiving.

The court granted the two accused persons 200 million cedis bail each to re-appear on December 22.

Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Joe Hedidor said Armah sold the spare parts to Boakye who made part payment of 8 million cedis. He said the complainant in the case detected that his vehicle had been tampered with leading to the arrests of the two upon a tip-off.
