Scout Youth Movement Launched

A youth group aimed at rekindling voluntarism and instilling patriotism in the youth in the Ellembele District has been inaugurated at Atuabo.

Inaugurating the group Mr Kofi Anaman, the founder who is an educationist and consultant, expressed concern that voluntarism and patriotism were currently vanishing among the youth.

He said the programme code-named “Future Builder Scout” (FBS) would be extended to other towns in the district and Jomoro in future when it achieves its aims and objectives.

Mr Anaman said the programme sought to transform Ghanaian youth and move them away from their unpatriotic attitude.

He said the refusal of the youth to undertake voluntary work was a contributing factor to the heaping of refuse in the communities.

Mr Anaman said advanced countries did not develop on a silver platter but with commitments, dedication and scarifies of their citizens who placed the interest of their nation first. Mr. Christopher Arvo Ebanyenle, the project co-ordinator, appealed to the people in the area to accept the programme that could help the development of the District.
