Schools to reopen next week – GES

Mr Charles Aheto-Tsegah, Director-General of the Ghana Education Service, said on Saturday that basic and second cycle schools would reopen next week.

He told the Ghana News Agency in an interview that basic schools would reopen on Tuesday, September 16, and second cycle schools would reopen on Monday, September 15.

Mr Aheto-Tsegah said rumours making the rounds that reopening dates had been postponed were untrue and should be ignored.

He said he was surprised that some teachers and parents had taken in the rumours and appeared to be confused as to when schools would reopen.

“Reopening dates have not changed; schools will reopen next week as scheduled and this is official,” Mr Aheto-Tsegah said.
