Mpasatia (Ash), Nov. 13, GNA – Teachers and pupils of Mpasatia Methodist primary and junior secondary schools in the Atwima-Mponua District of Ashanti have appealed to the government to institute a probe into why a six-classroom block construction, which started four years ago have been abandoned.
They claimed that the existing old classrooms were so congested that there was the need for an immediate completion of the ongoing project.
Mr Michael Tandoh, headmaster of the JSS, made the appeal through the Ghana News Agency at Mpasatia at the weekend. He said all the existing classrooms are without windows and doors and these have given Indian hemp smokers and thieves the chance to invade the school premises.
Mr Tandoh said the sad story was that the contractor, being a native of the town, was nowhere to be found to compel him to complete the project.
Mr John Adusei, chairman of the school’s PTA, said he would search for the contractor and those engaged in the extension of electricity from the town to the school to expedite action on the work.
