School project inaugurated at Tronang

Dormaa-Ahenkro (B/A) Feb. 4, GNA- A three-classroom block, office and store for the Local Authority Primary School at Tronang in Dormaa District, estimated at 175 million cedis was inaugurated on Tuesday. The project was financed from the HIPC fund.

Mr. Emmanuel Duku, Dormaa District Chief Executive said the government attaches importance to education as a tool for national development.

The government in its efforts to promote education has put in place sound policies and appealed to parents and guardians, School Management Committees (SMCs) as well as Parent Teacher Associations (PTAS) to evolve pragmatic programmes to support the efforts.

The DCE said the District Assembly had awarded scholarships to a number of students in its efforts to improve education. Mr. Duku assured them that the Assembly would continue to provide classroom blocks, workshops and Libraries to enhance teaching and learning in the schools.

He commended the contractor, Tender Crown Construction Company, which executed the project for the good work done.

Mr. Augustine Ampaabeng-Kyeremeh, District Director of Education, appealed to parents to enrol their children in school and provide them with their basic educational needs.

Mr. Simon Yeboah, Assembly Member, commended the Assembly for providing the block and expressed the hope that it would motivate the children to study hard.

Mr. Kwabena Baah, Chairman of the Kwameasua Area Council, who presided, appealed to the community to maintain the project well for it to last long.
