School management committee appeals for support

Donkro-Nkwanta (B/A), Oct. 10, GNA – The School Management Committee at Donkro-Nkwanta in Nkoranza District has appealed to the District Directorate of Education to liaise with Ghana Cement Manufacturing Company (GHACEM) to provide them with cement to enable them to complete ongoing school projects in the area.

Mr Joe Appiah, Chairman of the Unit Committee in the area told Ghana News Agency at Donkro-Nkwanta that the people had started providing new blocks for the Anglican and Local Authority primary schools. He said the people made special contributions of 20,000 cedis a man and 10,000 cedis a woman and organised a fund raising rally. The Chairman said the people had exhausted all their funds on the projects and appealed to the District Directorate to approach GHACEM for assistance.

The Reverend Father Robert B. Num, local manager of Anglican schools in the area commended the people for their efforts and appealed to the Nkoranza District Assembly to support them. He gave the assurance that the Anglican Church would also assist and encourage the community to promote development of the area.
