School block for Zamballa primary commissioned

Zamballa (U/E), Aug 3, GNA- A 370-million-cedi block of three classrooms and an office for Zamballa primary school in the Garu-Tempane District has been commissioned by Mr. Emmanuel Sin-nyet Asigri, the District Chief Executive.

Work on another block of three classrooms for the Upper Primary would be completed in September this year.

Mr. Asigri said the building of the block was a demonstration of government’s commitment to promoting education in the country. He urged parents to take advantage of the Governments’ Capitation Grant and School Feeding programme and send their children the school. Mr. Asigri appealed to teachers to work assiduously so that school children could pass their examinations, to justify the huge investments being made in their education by their parents and government. Mr. Eugene Zongo-Naah Domah, District Director of Education, said the directorate was initiating comprehensive measures towards the development of education in the area.

He said the directorate monitored pupils and teachers attendance, staffing situation, writing of lesson notes by teachers in 84 schools in the district.
