Sawaba: Flood renders residents homeless

About 200 residents have had their homes flooded after dawn rains at Sawaba New Site, near Aboabo in Kumasi.

The rain that lasted for about an hour began at 1am Saturday, June 25.

About 50 houses were submerged, forcing inhabitants to sleep in the open.

Officers from the Ghana National Fire Service helped in rescue efforts to evacuate people to dry land.

The rain also left massive destruction of property in its trail.
