Saviour Church of Ghana celebrates 90th Anniversary

The Saviour Church of Ghana would begin the celebration of its 90-year Anniversary on Friday, February 7, at Gomoa-Nyanyano in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.

According to the Executive Council of the Church, this momentous occasion would come to a climax on Tuesday, February 11.

A statement issued by the Office of the General Superintendent and Spiritual Head of the Church, Opanin Elia Asirifi Dadeako and copied to the Ghana News Agency at Gomoa Nyanyano, said: “the church is 90 years old this year, and we give the Almighty all the praise and glory.”

The statement recalled that in 1924, the seed of what has now flourished as the Saviour Church of Ghana was sown by Opanin Samuel Brako of blessed memory, who christened the church ‘Nkwagyesom’ (Gyidi).

It said the Church soldiered on, and became a force to reckon with in 1946 under the able leadership of the late Opanin Isaac Asirifi Dadeako.

The statement recalled further that it was at the time of Opanin Dadeako that the name Saviour Church of Ghana became a household name, thus finding its place in every corner of the country.

His son, now the Spiritual Head, is poised to lead the Church on to power and prosperity, the statement assured the entire congregation.

The Executive Council, whose other members are: Opanin Moses Agyekum, Opanin Peter Kwabena Agyei, Opanin Martin Agyei-Mensah and Opanin Emmanuel Dadzie, therefore, appealed to members to come and support the historic and momentous Anniversary of the Church, in order to make it a big success, the statement concluded.
