Save Our Lives

A Dutch import & export company Unidex BV, Danish Brewery & Geisha have donated various food items to orphans of the ?Save Our Lives Ghana? in the small town of Manso Agoroyesum in the Manso West District of Ashanti in Ghana.

The items worth over ?5000,00 included Nestle Cerelac, Carnation milk, Nido milk powder, Vitamalt junior, Geisha and detergents.

Mr. Bert van Galen, Promotion Manager of Unidex BV expressed the hope that the donation would go a long way to alleviate the heavy burden faced by the orphanage.

Mr. Van Galen was also thankful to the other donors (Geisha & Danish Brewery) for their quick response to offer some of their products.

He added that Unidex BV, which had a commercial interest in Ghana and also a major supplier of tropical goods to numerous African shops in The Netherlands, felt obligated to provide assistance to the plight of the orphanage after being debriefed on the situation by an Amsterdam based Ghanaian entrepreneur, Alice Pokua of Pofam Super market.

Save Our Lives Ghana is a privately registered orphanage run by a compassionate Matron Paullina Opei of St. Martin Hospital at Agoroyesum in the Manso area.

The orphanage has over 33 orphans of varying ages and depends largely on the personal income and resources of the matron.

Receiving the items, Nana Osei of Sankofa Television on behalf of the orphanage thanked the donors for their kind gesture.

He added, ?I am very happy that Sankofa Television?s visit to Ghana last year has yielded positive results, at least these orphans will be happy.?

?This is the fourth major donation as a result of our visit.

Chequepoint, a money transfer company is currently sponsoring the Save Our Lives Ghana orphanage alongside a mentally retarded teenager Kwaku Anyima at Hwenampori near Bibiani in the Western Region on a total monthly remittance of ?350,00.

Last December, Pofam also donated various food items valued over ?3000,00 to the orphanage, he added.?

The items have been shipped to Ghana.
