Sarakin Zongo of Ashanti is dead

Kumasi, Jan 17, GNA – Burial took place at the Tafo Public Cemetery in Kumasi on Sunday of Alhaji Ibrahim Dansoho Tahir, Sarakin Zongo (Zongo Chief) of Ashanti Region. He died at the age of 75 on Saturday evening at a private hospital in Kumasi after a short illness.

Abdallah Atin-Tofa, Secretary to the Kumasi Zongo Palace and Alhaji Osman Badawuri, Chairman of Muslim Council of Elders, disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency in Kumasi on Sunday.

The late Sarakin Zongo Tahir, a Traditional Bone Setter for over 50 years, was enstooled in May 2000 after the death of Sarakin Zongo Alhaji Abubakr Ali III.

He left behind two wives, 14 children and 31 grandchildren.
