Sammy Crabbe offers to bear cost of NPP congress

Former Greater Accra Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party, Samuel Crabbe has elected to bear the costs of organising elections at the polling station, constituency and regional levels of the party.

The National Executive Committee of the NPP is meeting in Accra today, Thursday, October 3, 2013, to deliberate on varied issues including the proposal for an early congress to elect a flagbearer ahead of the 2016 general elections.

Mr. Crabbe in a letter to the National Council said he was ready to foot the bills for holding the elections for new officers in all the 275 constituencies across the country.

“We are all enjoined to contribute our quota towards the good fortunes of our party. I am aware that the party would need to compile a new constituency album for elections comprising polling station executives and other mandated party officials for the purpose of electing in the first instance, members of the National Executive Committee and ultimately the next Flag Bearer of our party.

“I am by this letter, informing you that I have obtained the equipment, and trained personnel to undertake this exercise in all 275 Constituencies at no cost to the party. As a party in opposition with significant resource challenges, hopefully this gesture will go a long way to reduce the cost burden on the party as it may also encourage others to contribute towards the elections of polling stations executives and party leadership across the country.

“I will be available for any further discussions if need be and look forward to a successful exercise to stand our party in good stead for a decisive and ultimately winsome contest of the 2016 General Elections…long Live the NPP,” he concluded.
