Samartex organises training for management trainees

Asankrangwa (W/R) Sep. 12, GNA- A three-day in-house training on leadership and managerial skills has been organised for nine management trainees at Samartex Timber and Plywood Company Limited at Samreboi in the Western Region.

The 17 trainees were fresh university and polytechnic graduates, who had been selected for the programme after their national service. Mr. Peter Damuah, the Human Resource Manager, told GNA that the programme was aimed at equipping participants with skills and knowledge to enable them to work efficiently.

He said the training programme, which started four years ago, formed part of the company’s human resource development strategy. Mr. Damuah said 11 trainees who completed a similar training were currently occupying managerial positions in the company. Topics treated at the workshop, Mr. Eddie Prah, a Takoradi-based management consultant, included leadership styles, people management skills and mindset change.
